Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Live Production and Video Specialist to elevate our live and broadcast experiences. The Live Production and Video Specialist will primarily focus on all aspects of our weekend liturgy experience, live events, and production equipment, including sound, video, and live stream. Secondarily, this position will assist with video production, editing, and other support to the media team.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of creating captivating live productions, managing video content, and ensuring seamless productions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools and innovative content creation techniques in a fast-paced environment that values creativity and precision.

This position is located 45 minutes outside of Chicago and includes rent-free use of a home owned by the parish! We offer a full range of benefits.

Responsibilities
Production:
Leads media production team at weekend or special Masses and coordinates live sound, cameras, and live stream Masses and other events
Manages all technical aspects of the broadcast production of the Sunday Experience, as well as any other scheduled parish live-stream events
Inputs Mass parts and song lyrics in Pro Presenter weekly
Recruits, trains, develops, and schedules volunteers to work sound/light/video/cameras
Maintains, cleans, and tests all production equipment and cameras to ensure every tool is in good working order each day before filming starts
Proactively fine-tunes adjustments and troubleshoots before, during, and after live events
Looks for ways to improve our online mass experience (incorporating new graphics, improving our online host page, and staying up to date on any tech that might help boost the experience)
Maintains cleanliness and organization of front of house, back of house, and both studios
Develops preventative maintenance plans for all equipment in the Church, Day Chapel, and studios (weekly, monthly, biannually, etc)
Trains on / learns how to troubleshoot and handle IT needs for parish staff
Runs sound for school Masses

Media:
Creates, develops, and edits shorts, reels and promos to be used at Masses and on social media
Creates and sends homily updates weekly
Handles website edits and responds/forwards website inquiries (daily)
Manages SJE Plus merchandise orders and fulfillment
Promotes evangelization programs as well as parish events and programs by using a variety of media avenues such as marquis sign, welcome loops, and weekly updates
Assists media team members with projects as assigned

Skills
Ability to operate professional filming equipment and manage live streaming setups efficiently
Skill and experience in Dante configuration is preferred
Advanced knowledge of front of house/audio engineering
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications, including Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Bridge, and Acrobat.
Experience with video editing software such as Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer.
Familiarity with post-production processes, including color grading, sound editing, and visual effects integration.
Understanding of content management systems (CMS) for organizing media assets effectively.
Knowledge of digital media, including video and photo editing
Understanding of website content, basic coding, and design
Computer knowledge (MAC and Windows)
Ability to proofread and verify the accuracy of written materials
Ability to shoot and edit clear photographs
Solid leadership and team management skills
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues in real time
