Job Description

The Director of Liturgy and Music (Director) collaborates closely with the Pastor and with other members of the Parish, both staff and volunteers, having responsibility for the overall worship experience of the community. This includes planning all aspects of Sunday, Holy Day, Weekday, and Seasonal celebrations as well as Funerals, Weddings, and other worship experiences throughout the parish including the school. The Director will organize all of the liturgical ministries (Altar Servers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Readers, Sacristans, Greeters, Ushers, Art & Environment, Music, Live Stream) through developing teams, and volunteer leaders, who in collaboration with the Director will organize regular training and yearly formation experiences. Sacred music, both ancient and contemporary, is an integral part of Catholic Worship. The Director will integrate their own expertise and skill as a church musician with the overall development of the community's experience. This ministry requires the ability to lead, develop, maintain, and promote a faith filled team of joyful co-workers, laboring together to build an engaging experience focused on drawing parishioners and visitors into active participation in the liturgical prayer life of the Catholic Church with a focus on beauty and the sacred.
