Job Description: Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher
Our Lady of the Snows Catholic School

Our Lady of the Snows is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and faith-filled Middle School ELA Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, dedicated to fostering both academic growth and spiritual development in students, and committed to promoting a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development & Instruction: Plan and implement a comprehensive English Language Arts program that promotes students' physical, social, and cognitive development. The curriculum should align with the school's educational philosophy and Catholic values.

Differentiation: Tailor lesson plans to meet the diverse learning needs, interests, and abilities of students. Provide individualized support for students with varying learning styles, needs, and academic levels.

Enrichment & Extension: Provide students with age-appropriate enrichment and extended learning opportunities to enhance their understanding and skills in English Language Arts.

Resource Utilization: Utilize available resources such as field trips, guest speakers, and creative teaching methods to enrich students' learning experiences and foster an engaging classroom environment.

Faith Integration: Actively engage in creating a supportive and close-knit faith community. Incorporate Catholic teachings and values into the curriculum, promoting a spiritually enriching classroom.

School Support: Actively participate in school-wide initiatives, support the school's mission, vision, and policies, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure the overall success of the students.

Classroom Management: Create a positive, disciplined, and safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence, respect, and social responsibility.

Communication: Maintain open and consistent communication with students, parents, and faculty to ensure the academic and social development of each child.

Qualifications

Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.

State certification in English Language Arts or related area (preferred).

Experience teaching middle school students in an ELA capacity (preferred).

Strong knowledge of middle school ELA standards and best teaching practices.

Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the varying needs of students.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
