Job Description: Elementary School Teacher
Our Lady of the Snows Catholic School

Our Lady of the Snows Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of elementary school students. As a part of our supportive Catholic school community, the teacher will inspire students to grow in both knowledge and faith, while following the school's mission and educational philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development & Instruction: Plan and implement a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports the physical, social, cognitive, and emotional growth of each student. Ensure alignment with the school's policies, Catholic teachings, and educational philosophy.

Differentiation: Adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including their individual interests, special needs, talents, and learning styles. Ensure each student's growth and development is supported.

Enrichment & Extension: Provide students with opportunities for enrichment or extended learning, encouraging their intellectual curiosity and academic achievement.

Resource Utilization: Integrate available resources such as field trips, guest speakers, and hands-on learning experiences to enhance students' engagement and educational growth.

Faith Integration: Actively contribute to a close-knit, supportive Catholic faith community. Incorporate Catholic values, prayers, and teachings into the classroom environment and daily routines.

School Support: Support and engage with the school's mission, vision, and policies. Collaborate with fellow educators to ensure a positive and effective learning environment.

Classroom Management: Create and maintain a classroom environment that is positive, inclusive, and conducive to learning. Foster respect, responsibility, and a love of learning in each student.

Communication: Maintain open, clear, and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure the well-being and academic success of each child.

Qualifications

Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution.

Valid New York State teaching certification.

Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred but not required.

Strong knowledge of elementary school curriculum and best teaching practices.

Ability to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse needs of all students.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Strong commitment to creating a positive and nurturing classroom environment.
