Location: Boston, MA (hybrid/flexible)
About the Oblates of the Virgin Mary
The Oblates of the Virgin Mary (OMV) is a Roman Catholic religious community dedicated to preaching, confession, spiritual direction, retreats, parish missions, and forming future priests and brothers. Rooted in the charism of Venerable Bruno Lanteri, we seek to bring the mercy of God and the hope of the Gospel to a world in need-always in full communion with the teachings and magisterium of the Catholic Church.
Position Summary
The Chief Communications & Marketing Officer (CCMO) leads all communications, marketing, and brand strategy for the St. Ignatius Province. This role shapes how the Oblates are seen and heard across digital, print, broadcast, and in-person channels-supporting our ministries, promoting vocations, and advancing the Cause for Sainthood of Venerable Bruno Lanteri.
We're seeking a visionary Catholic media leader who knows the Catholic landscape (apostolates, influencers, platforms), is excited about innovation, and wants to integrate AI tools and platforms prudently into evangelization and ministry. If you love the Church, understand media, and are energized by building and scaling "growth engines" for mission, we'd like to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute an integrated communications and marketing strategy aligned with the mission and charism of the Province.
Steward the OMV brand across all channels, ensuring clarity, consistency, and fidelity to Catholic teaching.
Advise the Provincial and leadership on messaging, branding, and public presence; set goals, KPIs, and budgets and report on impact.
Oversee digital channels (website, livestreams, YouTube, social media, email, digital ads) and lead content planning and production (video, audio, written, social) for ministries, events, and appeals.
Collaborate with Catholic media partners and influencers; manage media relations, press releases, and storytelling about OMV ministries.
Drive campaigns that promote OMV religious and seminarian vocations and communicate OMV charisms, including the Cause of Venerable Bruno Lanteri.
Identify and implement AI tools and digital workflows that support evangelization, content creation, and operational efficiency, in line with Catholic moral principles.
Lead a "vendor-first" model, managing agencies, freelancers, and technology partners; coordinate priests, seminarians, staff, and volunteers involved in content.
Support issues/crisis communications (including safeguarding and accreditation) and handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality, prudence, and professionalism.
Qualifications
Required
Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church, with a deep love for her mission.
7+ years' experience in communications, marketing, media, or related fields, ideally in Catholic/Christian ministries, apostolates, media, or nonprofits.
Strong familiarity with the Catholic media landscape and influencers (TV/radio, podcasts, digital apostolates, social creators).
Proven success leading multi-channel communications/marketing (web, social, email, video, print) and managing vendors or cross-functional teams.
Excellent writing and storytelling skills; able to translate spiritual/theological content into accessible, engaging language.
Comfortable using data and analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, email and social metrics) to guide decisions.

About the Employer
Oblates of the Virgin Mary www.omvusa.org"Even if I should fall a thousand times a day, a thousand times I will get up again and say, Nunc Coepi, Now I begin."
Venerable Pio Bruno Lanteri
These words of the founder, Venerable Pio Bruno Lanteri (1759-1830), capture the spirit and mission of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary. Father Lanteri lived in northern Italy in a time of great moral confusion and spiritual discouragement. He formed the Oblates to be both contemplatives and apostles, men of study, prayer, and compassionate pastors. Today, serving in nine countries around the world, the Oblates bring hope for a new beginning. This hope springs from five key attributes essential to Oblate Spirituality: Mercy, Mary, Fidelity, Discernment, and Zeal for souls in today's world. www.omvusa.org
