POSITION SUMMARY:
To assist in educating the parish on the needs of the parish and greater community and facilitate opportunities for parishioners to live out the corporal works of mercy in loving service to others.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be a Catholic person of faith committed to Gospel values. Must understand and support the mission and purpose of the Church and Parish and must value the organization and responsible management of resources.
• Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality at all times, under all circumstances.
• Knowledge/Skills: Must be able to show empathy and compassion and maintain confidentiality; strong planning and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail required; must have excellent interpersonal, communications, and public relations skills and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Must be able to work without regular supervision, and take initiative in problem-solving and need for assistance or additional resources.

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Minimum of two years of administrative experience required
• Experience working with sensitive, and/or confidential material, desired
• Experience working with the marginalized preferred

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Supervise the coordinator of the Mother Seton Food Pantry; assist the needy to access this pantry as necessary
• Coordinate the collection of food, toiletries, other items and ensure that collections are either picked-up or delivered to the appropriate charity in a timely manner.
• Coordinate parish-wide fundraising events to help various local, state, national or international charities
• Active parish liaison with Catholic Charities, Diocese of Arlington, Prince William County Cooperative Council of Ministries, and other community groups.
• Responsible for taking requests for financial or other material assistance and either referring such requests to other agencies who are better able to address those needs, or seeking authorization of parish funds to be disbursed to assist with those needs.
• Assist in educating the parish on the needs of the community (local, regional, national, and international) primarily through the hosting of speakers for quarterly awareness talks/presentations.
• Coordinate and assist with service projects among different groups and ministries within the parish.
• Coordinate the volunteers to help those in need within the parish community
• Coordinate meals at the local Homeless Shelter (twice a year-one week at a time) and Overnight Winter Shelter (twice a month, November-March)
• Develop and maintain annual budget for charitable contributions, administrative needs and other expenses as needed.
• Act as Staff Point of Contact for the Parish Respect Life Committee and Parish Virginia Catholic Conference (VCC)
• Other duties as assigned by Pastor.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY:
• Given wide latitude to perform job duties under the supervision of the Pastor
• Supervises all volunteer chairs of parish charitable service ministries
• Coordinates regularly with fellow staff and volunteers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
• While performing the duties of this job, required to have ordinary ambulatory skills; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weight of 10 - 50 pounds
• Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read
• Frequently required to sit, listen, talk and use repetitive motion of the hands/wrists
• Work performed in and out of the office setting
• Regular evening and weekend work is required
• Periodic travel is required
• Must be adaptable to change and able to work in a flexible environment.
