Job Description

Full-time Mathematics Teacher

Courses include: Algebra 2 Honors (pre-AP), Algebra 2 (college prep), Algebra 1 Honors, and Algebra 1
Qualifications: a minimum of a bachelor's degree in mathematics and background in teaching high school mathematics; able to balance preparation for standardized tests with a liberal arts approach to teaching mathematics. Duties include planning and implementing instruction, differentiation of instruction, cooperation with SCA learning specialist on IEP case management and mentoring students. TN certification in mathematics is preferred. Prior experience teaching AP Calculus and/or AP Statistics is a plus.
Saint Cecilia Academy follows a unique Geometry First Curriculum in which students begin with Geometry and are prepared for AP-level work after a two-year sequence of Algebra 1 and 2 without the need for a Pre-calculus class. Consequently, candidates must show enthusiastic support for our curriculum and for an all-girl, faith-filled environment. As SCA is small by design, candidates also should expect to teach several courses of different levels each year and to collaborate closely with other mathematics teachers.

Start Date: August 1, 2024
