Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional individual on fire for the love of Jesus Christ, who humbly and fearlessly shares the Gospel in a post-Christian culture, and who is in full communion with the Catholic Church.

The Mission Specialist is a self-driven evangelist who will become steeped in Vincentian theology and spirituality, focused on adapting our evangelization to changing world conditions. The Specialist will design and lead efforts to inform and inspire current and prospective volunteers and staff in our mission. This is a "forward-facing" person to person position that requires excellent writing, editing, and people skills. The Specialist will also plan and lead liturgical celebrations and serve as lead sacristan for our St. Vincent de Paul Chapel, where the Most Blessed Sacrament is reserved.

Individuals with experience in peer-to-peer ministry (e.g. FOCUS, NET, SPO, Vagabond, Christ in the City), faith community life, and/or undergraduate or graduate Catholic theology are encouraged to apply. Relocation assistance is available.

About the Employer

The St. Vincent de Paul Society is an international lay association of the faithful of the Roman Catholic Church founded by college students in Paris in 1833, now with ministries in over 100 countries. In Dayton, Ohio, we have operated continuously since 1930 by accompanying individuals in need, focusing on clothing, food, and shelter. We currently operate the largest homeless shelters in the United States, in addition to supportive housing for individuals and families, and thrift retail.
