Primary Function of this Position
The Director of Family Faith Formation administers the parish catechetical program and provides leadership to assist the parish community in building a solid foundation of catechetical ministry supporting both our Parish Vision and Mission. This is a year-round position.

Position Responsibilities
Organize, schedule, and oversee all aspects of religious education programs for pre-school through grade 6, and family formation consistent with diocesan guidelines.
Prepare and schedule sacramental and worship services for students and parents.
Prepare and schedule summer programs such as vacation bible school per the Pastor's vision for such programs.
Order textbooks, teaching materials and resources for the program.
Identify and support the training for catechists at each grade level, ensuring that all Diocesan requirements are met by all volunteers.
Prepare and assist catechists in their role as teacher and be a resource of experience and knowledge.
Meet periodically with existing catechists to update and to update and understand their needs and experiences.
Handle registration and scheduling classes ensuring the appropriate paperwork is completed prior to registration and copies of baptismal certificates are uploaded prior to registration.
Prepare and implement special liturgies for the children of religious education and for the catechist team.
Prepare and preside at para-liturgical celebrations for students.
Prepare an annual budget and submit to Business Manager and Pastor.
Coordinate with other ministry leaders such as music and evangelization to plan for sacraments and programing.
Participate in monthly staff meetings and update the staff as needed.
Additional responsibilities at the discretion of the Pastor.

Position Specifications/Requirements
Required:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in directing a parish faith formation program
BA degree or equivalent certification in Theology, Religious Education or Faith Formation
A practicing and active member of the Roman Catholic faith
An understanding of our parish mission and vision and the ability to implement a program in line with both
A thorough understanding of the Catholic faith and the sacraments
A desire to help children and their families deepen their faith life
The ability to work with parents to foster the faith education of their children
The ability to work with and coordinate activities with staff and volunteers
The ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
The knowledge of the appropriate software tools to accomplish the requirements of this position
Demonstrate capability to carry out administrative and supervisory duties in a timely fashion, utilizing good communication and relationship skills
Preferred:
Familiarity with Diocesan guidelines and Canon Law relating to Religious Education
Master's degree or equivalent course work and work experience

Working Environment
This position entails frequent evening and weekend work and requires that you be physically present on our Parish Campus.
