Job Description

We are establishing the Coordinator of Adult Missionary Discipleship position. This position will report to the Director of Parish Ministry and provide support in the following areas:

• Act as coordinator of Adult Faith Formation throughout the entire parish: Direct parish wide efforts for the evangelization and catechesis of adults, with a special emphasis on adults between the ages of 30-50.

• Supervise and support lay volunteer leadership of current groups: Bible Study groups, Small Church Communities, Walking with Purpose, This Man is You, Rescue Project, Parish Mission, Respect Life Ministry, Prison Ministry, Men's & Women's Ministry, etc.

• Direct and coordinate the RCIA program, from inquiry to initiation,

• Assess current programs for sustainability,

• Oversee budget and expenses of AFF groups,

• Provide parent resources for PSR parents,

• Order supplies for AFF groups, such as books, materials, pamphlets, etc.,

• Revitalize, supervise, and support the following groups in their ministries: Parish Mission and Bible Study groups.

Additional Responsibilities: This is an evolving position, and additional requirements may be necessary at the direction of the Director of Parish Ministry. This position will serve as a key collaborator with the Director of Parish Ministry. Further assistance may include but are not limited to the following: charitable outreach activities, and other pastoral aspects of parish pastoral life.

Education Requirements: Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church and its mission is required, particularly regarding the Parish and its vital role in a Christian's personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A bachelor's degree in theology, religious education, or equivalent is preferred.

Experience: Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church is required. Parish and/or diocesan ministry experience is strongly preferred. Individuals should be able to demonstrate familiarity with the various aspects of ministry, including liturgy, catechesis and faith formation, youth ministry, charity, parish outreach activities, and the day-to-day operations of the Parish Ministry Office. Above all, the desired candidate must manifest a missionary disciple identity, be able to share their testimony of Christ, proclaim the kerygma, and form other disciples.

Job-Related Skills: Experience in ecclesial/ministerial work, including familiarity with Church structures and systems, experience collaborating with clergy/staff/volunteers, and possessing exceptional interpersonal skills such as listening, conflict resolution, collaboration, written/oral communication, effective platform skills, and presence. The willingness to meet people where they are in their faith journey and guide them in the authentic teaching of the Faith without compromise is required. The candidate must be capable of serving on a team, directing teams, and being effective through others. The candidate needs to be well-organized and self-motivated.
