Job Description

Notre Dame Academy, located in Hingham, MA, is seeking a Vice Principal of Academics to begin in July of 2024. A college-preparatory high school educating young women in grades 7-12, Notre Dame Academy (NDA) is a vibrant, Catholic, learning community, sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The Academy guides young women in their personal faith formation, challenges students to pursue academic excellence, and encourages social responsibility on behalf of global justice. Since their founding days, they have "trained up strong women." Over 450 young women call NDA home.

As the first all-girls day school in Massachusetts, Notre Dame Academy provides educational experiences that recognize and cultivate students' distinctive talents and skills. Notre Dame Academy guides each student in her educational journey, providing a holistic education grounded in academic excellence that includes small sizes and a dynamic curriculum. From middle school through senior year, Notre Dame Academy nurtures a journey of self-discovery in young women, inspiring hearts, minds, and voices. Every aspect of teaching and learning is tailored to girls - every class, every program, every team - emboldening girls to take the lead in the classroom, in the lab, on stage, on the field, and in their communities. Leadership programming and early college counseling prepare young women for a promising future. Graduates leave NDA with the power of an alumnae network 170 years strong behind them.

Under the supervision of, and in collaboration with the Principal or their designee, the Vice Principal of Academics will oversee the academic development and well-being of all students by creating, managing, and executing a program to enrich the students' academic and classroom experience in accordance with the mission of the school and the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The Vice Principal of Academics oversees teaching faculty and curriculum development for all academic classes; ensures teacher effectiveness; and supports teachers in maintaining student relationships and accountability and fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues.
