Job Description

Job Summary
The Groundskeeper is responsible for consistent maintenance of all assigned grounds areas of the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament. This is a highly active position with a lot of walking, bending, lifting for long periods of time. The Groundskeeper works primarily outside throughout the year.

Essential Duties
• Diligently maintains assigned areas of grounds as instructed.
• Safely operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, pressure washers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws, etc.
• Regularly maintains all equipment needed and quickly notifies management when equipment needs repair.
• Carefully follow all safety precautions.
• Prompt and consistent attendance.

Other Duties
• Keeps work areas neat and clean at all times.
• Safely handle and administer fertilizers and pesticides.
• Special events set up and tear down.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions carefully
• Able to work independently after initial direction.
• Knowledge of power tools and landscaping equipment is helpful
• Committed to upholding the mission of Our Lady of the Angels Monastery
• Able to transport up to 50 lbs.
• High School diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Must have valid drivers license.
