Middle School Religion Teacher

Job Description

Position Summary:
The full-time Religion Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing standards-based lessons.
Essential Functions:
• Follow the guidelines and tenants of the Catholic Church and the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
• Create and implement lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge, engage, and inspire students to think confidently and independently.
• Manage Catholic identity programs including retreats, faculty faith formation, May Procession, altar server training, and more.
• Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students.
• Integrate the use of technology effectively into the curriculum.
• Communicate with parents in a professional and timely manner.
• Perform recess and lunch duties as scheduled.
• Support the Catholic spirituality and mission of the school.
• Attend various school events such as Back to School Night, graduation, and Open House.
Position Qualifications:
• Must be an active, practicing Catholic fully able to participate in the life of the church
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
