Position Title: Facilities Manager
Location: Potomac Falls, VA
Entity: Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church & School (including off-site rectory)
Position Type: Full-time, Exempt (Salaried)
Reports To: Pastor

Position Purpose:
The Facilities Manager provides professional oversight, strategic planning, and hands-on maintenance for all physical assets of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and School. This role ensures a safe, clean, secure, and spiritually welcoming environment for parishioners, students, faculty, and clergy.

The scope of responsibility includes the main parish church, the K-8 parochial school campus, and the off-site parish rectory.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Operations & Maintenance
Perform and oversee routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on all buildings, mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), and grounds.
Manage the operation of automated systems, including HVAC controls, lighting, and campus security/fire alarms.

2. Multi-Site & School Compliance
Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations, particularly regarding the K-8 school building (e.g., fire drills, water testing, asbestos management compliance).
Oversee regular maintenance, repairs, and landscaping logistics for the off-site rectory, respecting the privacy and scheduling needs of the parish clergy.

3. Vendor & Project Management
Source, negotiate, and oversee third-party contractors for specialized work (e.g.,roofing, major HVAC overhauls, commercial pest control, snow removal).
Assist parish leadership in vetting capital improvement bids and overseeing construction or renovation projects.

4. Emergency Readiness & Security
Serve as the primary 24/7 on-call contact for facility-related emergencies, fire panels, and security alarms.
Maintain clear emergency protocol documentation for both parish and school staff.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of solid facilities management experience, preferably in a campus, school, or church environment.
Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
Certifications: HVAC certification, Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or relevant trade licenses are highly desirable.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated spaces.
Mission Alignment: Must respect and support the mission, teachings, and safe- environment policies (Child Protection/VIRTUS) of the Catholic Diocese of Arlington.

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
Benefits: Full diocesan benefits package, including medical/dental/vision insurance, 403(b) retirement matching, and diocesan pension plan participation.
Perks: mileage reimbursement for off-site travel
