Job Description
The Director for Communications and Information for the Diocese of Saint Petersburg, FL, serves as the spokesperson for the diocese and coordinates all media relations with the secular and religious media. Serves the Bishop by communicating and managing his message to the People of God. Manages the bishops' social media accounts and ensures that press releases are promulgated capturing the Good News of the Catholic Church on the west coast of Florida. Prepares strategies and statements on diocesan issues and initiatives, coordinates the communication/public relations aspects of any of the bishop's appearances throughout the diocese. Coordinates any livestream events at the Cathedral whether the bishop is present. Assists parishes, schools and other diocesan entities with media relations, including providing training to parish and school communication staff. Writes for the Gulf Coast Magazine (print and online) capturing the Diocesan Pastoral Plan and the Bishop's activities and message. Is a team member of Ministry Advancement which proclaims the good news and works of the diocese.
