Job Description
The Associate Director, Catholic Schools Development is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing a comprehensive fundraising program that supports students, educators, and Catholic schools throughout the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma. This position works closely with the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma team to increase philanthropic support for Catholic education, with a particular emphasis on the Catholic Schools Opportunity Fund.A key aspect of the position is to oversee the Tax Credit Scholarship program (TCS). The TCS is a State of Oklahoma Scholarship Granting Organization receiving gifts from companies and individuals under the Oklahoma Equal Opportunity Scholarship Act. With those gifts, the TCS then disburses scholarships to eligible students in the 19 Catholic schools located in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. Donors gave $1.79 million to the program in 2023, $1.94 million in 2024 and $1.83 million last year. That helped roughly 1,900 children receive a Catholic school education.
In 2027, the Associate Director, Catholic Schools Development will also be responsible for overseeing the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit program. These funds will provide scholarships to children to attend a school of choice or to access other education-related services and products.
Qualifications for this position include a bachelor's degree, 8-10 years of fundraising experience, intermediate knowledge of databases or CRM software and an active, practicing Catholic in good standing with the church. Skills needed include the ability to work effectively with clergy, religious staff, volunteers and lay leaders; excellent organizational and time management skills and strong communication practices.
