Diocesan Coordinator for Youth and Young Adult Ministry

Job Description

The Catholic Diocese of Wichita is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a full-time Coordinator for Youth and Young Adult Ministry. This person will assist parishes to establish, grow, and maintain robust outreach and ministry to middle school youth, high school youth, college-aged students, and young adults. The Coordinator will provide coaching, formation, and strategic guidance to clergy, parish staff, and volunteers by offering training, consultation, and policy guidance for sustainable discipleship focused ministry. Toward this goal, the Coordinator promotes initiatives that foster the conversion of young people toward life in Christ Jesus, including oversight, planning and execution of several youth events.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Practicing Catholic in good standing with active parish involvement
• Extensive, successful experience working in Catholic youth and/or young adult ministry, leadership formation, or related pastoral leadership
• Bachelor's in theology, ministry or related field strongly preferred
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with clergy, parish young adult ministry leaders, young adults, lay volunteers, and Curia Offices
• Strong communication, coaching and organizational skills, including skills in interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, collaboration and budget preparation
• Knowledge of Church teaching and relevant theology and practice of youth, young adult and college ministry
• Demonstrated experience working effectively in multicultural parish settings
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; social media and website experience helpful
• Ability to travel throughout the diocese and work occasional evenings and weekends to train personnel (paid and volunteer) in parishes to establish, grow, and maintain ministry to young people
