Parish Secretary

Job Description

St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Trinity (New Port Richey, Florida, one of the fastest growing parishes in the Diocese of St. Petersburg) is searching for a part time Parish Secretary (approximately 25 hours over 4 days per week). This position is responsible for coordinating the operation of the parish office, maintaining the parishioner data base and assisting parishioners as needed.

This position is a liaison between parishioners and parish administration. Additionally, the Parish Secretary will provide clerical support to the church's administrative offices.

Qualities and Skills

-- Well-organized, detail-oriented
-- Ability to work independently
-- A Plus: Familiarity in ParishSOFT and/or Fellowship One
-- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel
-- Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Duties and Responsibilities
-- Act as liaison between parishioners and parish office staff
-- Maintain office filing system to assist parish in its organization of records
-- Place and receive calls
-- Maintain parish event calendar
-- Use parish database software to register parishioners
-- Use copy machine to print parish literature such as programs, brochures and mailings

Candidate must successfully pass a Level II FBI Background Screening and complete Safe Environment Training.
