Job Description

Long Beach Catholic School is seeking a faithful, creative and enthusiastic Art Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, brings energy and creativity to the classroom, and can introduce students to both the practice of art and the great artistic traditions that have shaped our culture and Catholic faith.

Responsibilities

• Teach age-appropriate art classes for students in Nursery through Grade 8
• Provide hands-on instruction in drawing, painting, and a variety of artistic techniques and media
• Introduce students to great artists, works of art, and artistic traditions
• Incorporate sacred art, Catholic culture, and the liturgical year where appropriate
• Encourage creativity while developing students' skills, craftsmanship, and attention to detail
• Create a positive, organized, and engaging classroom environment
• Display and celebrate student artwork throughout the school
• Collaborate with faculty and administration as part of the broader life and mission of the school

Qualifications

The ideal candidate:
• Is faithful and committed to the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church
• Actively participates in the sacramental life of the Catholic Church
• Enjoys working with young children and brings patience, warmth, and enthusiasm to the classroom
• Has a degree or experience in art, art education, education, or a related field preferred
• Has an appreciation for traditional, classical, and sacred art
• Is enthusiastic about contributing to a joyful Catholic school community
