Classroom Aide PositionsHoly Spirit School - Pequannock, New Jersey
2026-2027 School Year
Holy Spirit School, a PreK-Grade 8 Catholic school in Pequannock, New Jersey, is seeking caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Classroom Aides for the 2026-2027 school year. Classroom Aides work closely with teachers and administrators to support student learning, classroom management, and the overall mission of Catholic education.
Essential Functions
Catholic Identity and Mission
Support and uphold the mission, philosophy, and values of Holy Spirit School and Catholic education.
Foster a positive, respectful, and faith-filled learning environment.
Model Christian values and appropriate behavior for students.
Participate in school prayer services, liturgies, and faith-based activities as appropriate.
Classroom Support
Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
Provide support to students individually and in small groups under the direction of the classroom teacher.
Reinforce lessons and learning objectives introduced by the teacher.
Assist with classroom organization, supervision, and daily routines.
Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, and special activities as assigned.
Help maintain a safe, orderly, and productive classroom environment.
Student Supervision and Assistance
Monitor student behavior and encourage positive interactions.
Assist students with assignments, projects, and classroom tasks.
Support the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
Provide assistance to students with varying learning needs under the guidance of the teacher and administration.
Collaboration and Professional Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and staff members.
Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters.
Attend meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Support school-wide events and activities as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work effectively with children in a school setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Basic proficiency with educational technology and office software preferred.
Qualifications
Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or related setting preferred.
Demonstrated ability to support student learning and classroom management.
Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's Degree or coursework in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
Compensation
$20.00-$22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
