Job Description

Ministry Purpose: This position plays a key role in advancing the religious mission of the clinic and therefore has a ministry purpose.

Qualifications:
1. Agrees with the Carolyn's Place statement of faith, mission statement, and code of Christian conduct.
2. Dependable, stable, and committed to fulfilling the responsibilities of the role.
3. Expresses a desire to reach at-risk patients considering abortion.
4. Believes in the sanctity of all human life from the moment of conception through natural death.
5. Possesses a sincere, mature Christian faith and is able to share that faith with others.
6. Holds a current RN license in good standing with the State of Connecticut and CPR certification.
7. Exhibits strong interpersonal, spiritual, and administrative skills; takes initiative, and is flexible.
8. Physically able to stand for long periods; has good eyesight (with correction if needed), steady hands, and a compassionate bedside manner.
9. Comfortable with current technology and able to learn new skills quickly.
10. Willing and able to obtain education, training, and documented competency to perform *limited obstetric ultrasound,* provided by organization.

FLSA Category: Non-exempt (Hourly)

Reports To: Collaborating Medical Provider

Time Commitment: 2 Days Per Week; Tuesday 12pm-7pm, Thursday 10am-5pm
(Additional Hours May Become Available)

Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Works with clinic staff to ensure patients receive the best medical, nursing, and psychosocial care possible.
2. Able to perform urine pregnancy tests according to clinic policy.
3. Perform basic vital signs.
4. Respond with critical thinking skills during a potential emergency situation and utilize the chain of command.
5. Perform a basic exam within scope of practice.
6. Feel confident in providing education on early pregnancy/ nutrition. Education for patients to develop an understanding of their health condition, including physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
7. Grows in knowledge and skills competence for medical procedures performed.
8. Reinforce the humanity of the unborn child with the patient.
9. Provides spiritual leadership to ensure the Godly mission of the organization.
10. Ensures that OSHA and HIPAA guidelines are followed.
11. Completes necessary forms and charting, including a pregnancy test verification letter.
12. Follows up with patients as directed by policies and procedures.
13. Upholds the center's policies and procedures.
14. Supports the religious mission of the center and encourages the spiritual growth of staff and clients.
15. Reinforces the humanity of the unborn child with patients, their guests, staff, and others.
16. Able to share the Gospel with patients and pray with them as appropriate.
17. Leads staff (or participates) in shared prayer and devotions as opportunities arise.
18. Share the love of Jesus Christ with all staff and volunteers, as appropriate.
19. Serves with a heart of mercy, grace, and love.
20. Is an ambassador of the Christian mission of the center to supporters and the public at large.
