Job Description

Position Title: Development Coordinator (Part-Time)
Hours: 12 hours per week
Term: July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027
Location: In-Person or Hybrid; weekly in-person meetings required at Chesterton Academy - Queen of Martyrs and prospective donor meetings (Sun Prairie area)

Position Summary

Chesterton Academy - Queen of Martyrs seeks a mission-driven Development Coordinator who sees fundraising not simply as a task, but as an invitation, an opportunity to connect generous hearts to a transformative mission.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about Catholic education and desires to play a meaningful part in building a school that forms young men and women in truth, goodness, and beauty. The Development Coordinator will help foster a culture of gratitude and generosity, inviting donors to invest in a vision that will bear fruit for generations.

Working closely with the Executive Director, this individual will cultivate relationships, advance fundraising initiatives, and help tell the story of the school in a compelling and authentic way.

Key Responsibilities

Cultivating a Community of Generosity

-Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective donors
-Invite individuals and families to partner in the mission through -meaningful engagement and giving
-Schedule and participate in donor meetings (primarily held at the school, where the mission is most visible)
-Conduct outreach through calls, emails, and in-person visits

Advancing the Mission Through Fundraising

-Support and help execute annual fundraising efforts, including the gala, appeals, and giving campaigns
-Assist in developing strategies for major gifts and recurring donations
-Help connect donors to specific needs and opportunities within the school

Stewardship & Gratitude

-Ensure every gift is acknowledged promptly and meaningfully
-Assist in crafting thoughtful donor communications, including thank-you letters and impact updates
-Foster long-term relationships rooted in gratitude, trust, and shared mission

Organization & Support

-Maintain accurate donor records and track gifts (using GiveButter)
-Generate reports to support strategic decision-making
-Assist with grant research and applications as needed

Presence & Collaboration

-Attend weekly in-person meetings at the school
-Maintain a regular presence on campus for key meetings and donor visits
-When working remotely, prioritize time spent meeting with prospective donors and advancing relationships

Qualifications
-A deep commitment to the mission of Chesterton Academy - Queen of Martyrs and the Catholic faith
-A desire to participate in the work of evangelization through Catholic education
-Experience in development, fundraising, sales, or relationship-building preferred
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a part-time capacity
-Comfortable inviting others to support the mission through financial giving

Compensation
Salary, commensurate with experience
