High School Science Teacher

Job Description

Chesterton Academy - Queen of Martyrs, a joyfully Catholic, classical high school outside of Madison, WI, seeks a talented and dynamic Part Time Science teacher to join our team starting in the 2026-27 academic year.

This position can also be divided into two separate, very part-time teaching positions. Candidates may apply to teach just one of the following courses if they are interested in a limited teaching commitment:

Astronomy - 4 classes per week
Chemistry - 5 classes per week

This flexibility makes the position an excellent opportunity for a candidate who is looking for a very part-time teaching position or who has particular expertise in one area of science.

Required Qualifications
- Must be a practicing Christian
- A commitment to foster the spiritual and intellectual formation of young men and women in a vibrant, faith-filled academic community.
- Bachelor's degree in Science-related fields.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications
- Roman Catholic willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium.
- Graduate degree and/or professional experience in science-related fields.
- Prior teaching experience (especially in a Classical school environment).

Responsibilities
In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academy participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue, and to help students grow in
holiness.

Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with education and experience.
