Job Description
Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church, a diverse, welcoming, vibrant community in New York City seeks a Director of Music Ministry. The Director is a key member of the parish pastoral staff and has excellent keyboard, vocal and directing skills. In addition to music skills, the director should be a good leader, organized, and who communicates well. Responsibilities are selecting music (contemporary/gospel style), forming, and preparing choirs and cantors for liturgy and all other aspects of liturgical music ministry. The minister is committed to the" full, active, and conscious participation of the faithful" at Mass and the desire to build a comprehensive music program.Preferred applicants who are bilingual (English/Spanish) and have parish experience.
The salary is commensurate with experience and education being in the range of $50,000-$64,000.
