Job Description

Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Annie's Home Board of Directors, the Executive Director will oversee all operations of Annie's Home.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the Overall Health of the Organization:

Establish and maintain HR processes including hiring, firing, policies, insurance etc.

Serve as the resource to the Board of Directors and committees. Assist nomination committee with the recruiting and orienting of new directors.

Administer the annual budget set by the Board.

Ensure financial accountability and timely reporting regarding budget, petty cash, house credit cards, gift cards, etc.

Manage bank account transactions. Approve and submit vendor bills.
Actively participate in local coalitions, networking activities, and skill-building associations to further the mission of Annie's Home.

Ensure completion of new hire/exit paperwork., Review and approve timesheets and expense reports.

Establish and maintain the financial systems and payroll system.

Resource Development:

Support the execution of the annual fundraising plan with focus on partnerships with the Board for creating a sustainable strategy for growing the donor base. Effectively reach financial goals set by the Board.

Coordinate, oversee and attend special events including signature events, partner events, and in-house events with support from contractors and/or volunteers.

Develop and maintain ongoing relationships and secure financial support from individuals, major donors, foundations and corporations.
Research potential grant funders, follow the foundation's established guidelines to apply for grants.

Increase public relations through social media, website presence, community outreach, email updates, monthly newsletter, and responses to media requests.

Coordinate gift processing and donor acknowledgment.

Coordinate and participate in community outreach opportunities such as speaking engagements and presentations.

Operations:

Forecast regular maintenance needs and major purchases for the house and budget accordingly.

Act as point of contact for any emergencies related to facility and automobiles including accidents, weather-related disasters and unexpected maintenance issues.

Implement insurance modifications when needed and coordinate all accident claims.

Maintain building maintenance files and warranties.

Oversee the upkeep of the house. Make sure the "First Impression Maintenance" is ongoing in community areas.

Update staff contacts and other community documents.

Programs:

Maintain and strengthen relationships with community partnerships and agencies.

Ensure programs reflect the mission, vision and core values of Annie's Home.

Ensure that decisions reflect the values and policies of the home.
Provide onsite support during crisis or emergency situations; attend challenging mom meetings when necessary; complete and file incident report.

Input and archive programmatic data in conjunction with the leadership team.

Staff Program:

Supervise Program Manager and House Manager. Have regular check-ins and quarterly reviews.

Facilitate weekly staff meeting.

Serve as the team leader, collaborating with the leadership team to create an environment of stability.

Maintain positive working relationships with all staff members. Be available for conversations with staff members as needed.

Ensure schedules created by staff members (duty, vacation, retreat, program) are effective and fair.

Support the House Manager to ensure that house coverage and transitions are implemented well.

Collaborative Leadership Efforts:

Consult other leadership team members prior to asking a mom to leave.

Plan retreats and reflection experiences in conjunction with the leadership team.

Attend recruitment fairs and conferences, as necessary.
Ensure social media and website presence, including for recruitment purposes.

Be available for emergency/crisis/major issues that arise. Provide onsite support to staff and/or first responders (e.g., police or firemen) during crisis or emergency situations. Be intentionally aware of conflicts, difficulties or stressors. Coordinate with a mental health provider to deescalate the situations. Follow up with the Board of Directors, as necessary.

Mediate and lead important conversation/safe space conversations with moms, staff, volunteers, etc. as needed.

Qualifications:

BA in related field required, MA preferred.
5-7 years' experience in nonprofit or social service organizations.
Excellence in organizational, supervisory and communications skills.
Experience working with vulnerable populations, addiction and poverty.
Alignment with Annie's Home core values and sanctity of human life.
