Job Description
Who We AreAmazing Parish is a movement led by pastors and parish leaders who firmly believe in the power of courageous leadership and cultural change to bring about parish transformation from the inside out.
After eleven years of fruitful work seeing pastors and parishes flourish with the accompaniment of the Amazing Parish team, we see bold visions and new opportunities in front of us to Gather, Coach and Inspire an international movement of healthy and effective leaders in order to renew and unlock the Church for mission.
What You'll Love
The Director of Mission Advancement will work closely with the Executive Director to build and grow the mission of Amazing Parish. You will share responsibility for the results with the ED while expanding and executing on a full development effort.
Amazing Parish is building a community of benefactors who care deeply about the renewal of the Church, the priesthood, and seeing parishes become places where the mission of the Church is being fruitfully lived every day. AP sees mission advancement as necessarily integrated into the full scope of the organization's strategy, not operating in a silo. This is not a development position where you are out on a limb, working alone to fundraise. You will have a highly engaged and competent board of directors and will work for an executive director who sees his first and primary role as chief fundraising officer. You will run the strategy for a fully operational development shop and manage up, maintaining relationships with our current philanthropic community while securing new small, major, and foundation support for our mission.
This mission is perfect for someone who thrives on relationships, has measurable experience in running a development program, can work at the pace of a growing organization and is excited by the idea of raising support for a mission that truly matters and is making an impact in the Church.
What You'll Do
Raise support for the mission of Amazing Parish.
Collaborate with the Executive Director to determine major gift fundraising objectives and plans
Maintain and establish new relationships in the Amazing Parish benefactor community
Gather data, assess prospects, and develop comprehensive long-range and short-term strategies
designed to realize current planned and lifetime giving potential of individual prospects.
Build and nurture collaborative, donor-centric long-term relationships to effectively match interest
of prospects and donors to growing areas of Amazing Parish's mission
Plan and host engagement opportunities at the Amazing Parish Leadership Summit and other
national events for current and prospective benefactors
Grow the Father Jim Lee Scholarship Fund that provides coaching to parishes with limited financial
resources
Prepare and present proposals and materials orally and in writing to prospects and existing donors
Hold organization accountable to integration of Mission Advancement into every aspect of
organization's work
Maintain clean database (Salesforce) of past and present benefactors to Amazing Parish and
organize moves management for both the ED and the DMA so that workflows are expedient and impactful
What You'll Need
Active, practicing Roman Catholic who is in full communion with the Church
Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience, with at least two years in major gifts or
mission advancement work
Critical thinking, problem solving, and ability to hustle and problem solve in order to flexibly adapt
to new challenges and systems in a startup environment
Strong collaborator and excellent communicator, effective at working in teams and group
dynamics
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Ability to multi-task; detail oriented
Open to growth through challenge in a fast-paced, multi-faceted Mission
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience with a target range of $100,000 - $120,000
Full benefit package including health, dental, vision, IRA retirement plan, life insurance, sick leave,
maternity/paternity leave, paid vacation and holidays
