Job Description
Holy Cross Family Ministries is an international Catholic apostolate rooted in Marian spirituality under the Congregation of Holy Cross. Job Purpose:
The Executive Director of Mission Advancement leads the planning and implementation of fundraising strategies to support the mission and long-term sustainability of Holy Cross Family Ministries. Working closely with the President and Foundation Board, this role oversees donor cultivation, stewardship, major and planned giving, capital campaigns, and related advancement initiatives. The Executive Director also manages communication, events, and marketing efforts that support philanthropic engagement and promote organizational growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Advancement Leadership
Develop, implement, and evaluate long-term advancement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Collaborate with executive leadership and the board to drive fundraising and mission advancement efforts.
Board and Stakeholder Engagement
Support board governance, member recruitment, and leadership development to foster a culture of philanthropy.
Fundraising and Donor Management
Oversee all fundraising activities, including major gifts, planned giving, capital campaigns, and donor stewardship.
Guide prospect identification and cultivation to expand philanthropic support.
Communications and Branding
Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all fundraising and communications platforms.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Lead and develop the advancement team to achieve organizational objectives.
Coordinate advancement initiatives with internal departments to maintain alignment.
Representation and Outreach
Act as a spokesperson for the organization's mission and advancement efforts.
Additional Duties
Perform other responsibilities as assigned, adapting to evolving organizational needs.
Skills & Qualifications
Must be a practicing Catholic with knowledge of and experience in the Catholic philanthropic arena.
Bachelor's degree.
7+ years of proven experience in advancement, focusing on securing major philanthropic gifts (5- and 6-figure levels).
Demonstrated success in personal solicitations and relationship building.
Experience planning and managing donor cultivation events of varying sizes.
Skilled in researching and identifying major donor prospects.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage complex programs and multiple priorities.
Independent decision-maker and effective team player.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the East Region, U.S., and Canada for donor engagement.
Understanding of and commitment to maintaining donor confidentiality.
Proficient in MS Office 365 (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint) and Zoom.
Experience with Raiser's Edge preferred.
Physical Requirements:
