Bookkeeper/ Accountant

Summary:
This part-time role is integral to the seamless operation of our thriving parish as it supports the collaborative efforts of our upbeat staff and highly engaged parishioners.

Job Description:
This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong background in bookkeeping.
Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services (DAS), this position plays a pivotal role in maintaining all financial records for our parish.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records to ensure seamless accounting processes.
• Process weekly cash deposits and related journal entries.
• Weekly data entry of parishioner contributions.
• Partner with DAS on a weekly basis to prepare accounts payable checks.
• Monthly bank reconciliations for all parish back accounts.
• Organize monthly mailings of donation statement summaries.
• Submit bi-weekly payroll information to outside payroll preparer.
• Preparation of monthly financial statements for DAS review.

Qualification
• Previous Bookkeeping/Accounting Experience preferred
• Working knowledge/familiarity with Parish Data System programs is preferred but not mandatory.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is preferred but not mandatory.
• Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage time appropriately to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Ability to honor and maintain strict confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
