Job Title: Sacred Spaces and Liturgical Ministries CoordinatorLocation: The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (Atlanta, GA)
Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Compensation: $24/hour, approximately 25 hours per week
Schedule Requirement: Must be on site Sundays; schedule may vary with the liturgical calendar

Position Summary:
The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Sacred Spaces and Liturgical Ministries Coordinator to maintain the sanctity, beauty, and organization of our worship environment. This part-time position ensures that the sacristy is fully stocked and orderly, sacred items are properly cared for, and the sanctuary reflects the liturgical seasons. The role also oversees coordination of all liturgical ministry teams and provides critical support to the parish's faith formation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
Sacristy Management
• Maintain the sacristy in a clean, organized, and reverent condition.
• Care for sacred linens, vestments, and garments, including laundering and repairs.
• Maintain inventory and proper storage of liturgical vessels, books, and sacramental supplies (candles, incense, altar wine, hosts, etc.).
Liturgy Preparation
• Collaborate with clergy and ministry heads to prepare and set up for all liturgies, including Sunday Masses and special celebrations.
• Ensure liturgical items are in place and in proper condition for each celebration.
Liturgical Ministry Coordination
• Serve as the primary point of contact for liturgical ministry heads (Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Altar Servers, Ushers).
• Support scheduling, communication, and coordination of liturgical volunteers.
Sanctuary Environment
• Design and maintain seasonal sanctuary decor in alignment with the liturgical calendar.
• Arrange flowers, banners, candles, and decorations appropriate to feast days and special events.
• Coordinate with vendors and parishioners for seasonal decoration efforts (e.g., Easter and Christmas).
• Organize an annual deep cleaning of the sanctuary with parish volunteers.
Faith Formation Support
• Assist the Director of Faith Formation with program logistics, classroom setup, and materials preparation.
• Serve as a catechist or classroom assistant as needed.
• Provide support during faith formation classes and special events, especially on Sundays.
General Coordination & Oversight
• Act as liaison between clergy, staff, and liturgical ministers to ensure all aspects of the liturgy are prepared and well-coordinated.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs related to sacred spaces or items.
• Open and secure the sanctuary on Sundays and for special liturgical events.

Qualifications:
• Familiarity with Catholic liturgical practices and the liturgical calendar.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Experience or interest in floral arranging and liturgical design.
• Interest or experience in faith formation or catechetical ministry.
• Comfort with light physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Previous experience in a church or liturgical setting preferred.
• Must be available on Sundays.
