Job Description

This is a part -time on-site role for a Writing Tutor / Learning Center Assistant located in Menlo Park, CA. The Writing Tutor / Learning Center Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Director, Student Learning as well as teaching Academic Writing I & II. Duties include prepping / teaching the 1-credit Academic Writing class for the Fall and Spring Semesters.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
• The Writing Tutor / Learning Center Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Director, Student Learning as well as teaching Academic Writing I & II.
• Duties include prepping / teaching the 1-credit Academic Writing class for the Fall and Spring Semesters.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
o Work hours - 10 hours per week. Monday afternoons and Wednesdays.
o Able to work well independently with little supervision.
o The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
o The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally push and/or pull equipment weight up to 100 pounds.

Qualifications:
• Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team
• Bachelor's degree required in English, Communications, Marketing, Philosophy or Humanities with 2-5 years teaching experience.
• Masters' Degree preferred with a teaching credential.
• Experience in a religious or educational institution is a plus
• Compensation range: $30-$35 per hour, non-exempt hourly position.
