The Role:
The Digital Communications Coordinator helps Legatus connect with its members and grow its reach through thoughtful, faith-filled digital communication. This person will serve as the primary content strategist for Legatus Connect, the private member community platform and app, and will support chapter growth through email and social media. Working closely with the Digital Strategist and Director of Marketing, and chapter leaders, the coordinator will shape the weekly formation content members see and help make Connect a place they return to daily. The ideal candidate is a skilled writer and organized project manager who is energized by the Legatus mission and thrives on a small, collaborative team.
Your Key Responsibilities
Stewarding the Legatus App/Online Community Platform
• Serving as the primary content strategist for Legatus Connect - the organization's private member community platform and app.
• Creating and executing a Connect content strategy that deepens member engagement, sustains formation content, and makes the app a place members return to daily.
• Developing the weekly formation content rhythm - including the Monday Lectio Divina and Friday Divine Mercy Chaplet programming - in collaboration with chaplains and staff.
• Supporting chapter administrators with content tools, templates, and guidance for their chapter group pages.
Assisting with Email Communications & Blog
• Manage and coordinate HubSpot marketing emails, including Chapter President communications, Alumni and Ambassador emails, and staff email requests.
• Draft and send emails, including event invitations, reminders, and follow-ups, in a warm, invitational tone consistent with Legatus branding.
• Maintain and update the email database of members, prospects, guests, and past attendees.
• Schedule and manage email campaigns, including invitations and reminders leading up to events.
• Send post-event information to attendees.
• Create and manage surveys, forms, and basic marketing communications as needed.
• Proofread all communications for accuracy, tone, and alignment with Legatus messaging guidelines.
• Post to blog as needed.
Assisting with Social Media Communications
• Manage the day-to-day execution of social media, including scheduling, publishing, and maintaining the content calendar.
• Create and adapt social content, and assist with event coverage, social campaigns, and content series.
• Create and publish posts and graphics promoting events, including date, time, location, and RSVP links.
• Highlight members through spotlights, testimonials, and stories that reflect Legatus's mission of faith, family, and business leadership.
• Capture and share event photos and highlights.
• Support chapters with social media content and requests, and help implement Legatus's chapter social media strategy.
• Monitor comments and messages, responding promptly or directing questions to the appropriate chapter leader.
• Encourage members to share and engage with content to expand reach.
Reporting and Analytics
• Maintain social and email analytics, including RSVPs, open rates, and engagement, and provide regular reporting to support the broader digital strategy.
• Analyze results and recommend adjustments to strengthen member engagement and membership growth efforts.
What We're Looking For
• 3-5 years of experience in digital content creation, social media, marketing, or communications-especially in mission-driven, Catholic, or nonprofit settings
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills-clear, compelling, and always on brand
• Familiarity with tools like Monday, HubSpot, Canva, and major social platforms
• A collaborative, proactive spirit who thrives in a small, purpose-driven team
• A deep respect for and alignment with the Catholic faith and the mission of Legatus
• Experience with webinar hosting and basic design tools is a plus
• Experience working in non-profit marketing
• The role requires strong organizational and project management skills, a deep understanding of nonprofit marketing practices, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Skills
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills: you can draft a warm event invitation, a reflective formation post, and a member spotlight in the same afternoon, all in a consistent Legatus voice.
• Ability to plan and manage content for a member community platform or app, including building a recurring content rhythm and encouraging daily engagement.
• Strong command of email marketing and CRM tools, including HubSpot: segmenting lists, scheduling campaigns, and tracking opens, clicks, and RSVPs.
• Proficiency in social media management and design tools, including Canva and major social platforms, with the ability to create polished graphics and photo or video highlights.
• Skill in gathering and analyzing engagement data and turning it into practical recommendations for growth.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as Monday.com, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-moving, small-team environment without sacrificing quality.
• Comfort working with chaplains, staff, chapter leaders, and members, with a professional and gracious communication style.
• Webinar hosting experience and basic design or video editing skills are a plus.
