Job Description

The Role:
The Executive Producer of Eleven Talents leads the behind-the-scenes work that makes every episode of the Legatus podcast thoughtful, polished, and worth a listener's time. This person will research guests and prepare the questions, coach the host before each recording, book and oversee contracted videographers, and carry each episode through post-production by working with the video post editor. Working alongside team members to schedule guests and following up with those guests afterward, the Executive Producer will also be responsible for bringing in at least one guest with name recognition each month, and for writing the title and description that introduce each episode to its audience. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the ideal candidate is a creative storyteller, skilled researcher, writer, and producer who is energized by the Legatus mission and thrives on a small, collaborative team.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Guest Research and Interview Preparation
• Researching each guest's background, work, books, past interviews, and public presence to uncover the stories and insights most relevant to our audience.
• Writing thoughtful, well-organized interview questions and guest briefs for every episode, tailored to the guest and the Legatus audience.
• Preparing background materials and talking points that equip the host to lead a natural, engaging conversation.

Host Coaching and Preparation
• Meeting with the podcast host ahead of each recording to review the guest, the questions, and the goals for the conversation.
• Coaching the host on interview technique, pacing, tone, and follow-up questions so that conversations are authentic and flow well.
• Offering constructive feedback after each recording to help the host grow with every episode.

Guest Scheduling, Booking, and Follow-Up
• Working with team members to schedule guests and coordinate recording dates, times, and logistics.
• Identifying, pursuing, and securing at least one guest per month with strong name recognition, and keeping a healthy pipeline of future guests.
• Following up with guests before and after recording, including confirmations, thank-yous, and sharing the finished episode, in a warm, professional tone consistent with Legatus branding.
• Building and maintaining lasting relationships with guests and their teams to support future opportunities for Legatus.

Production Oversight and Post-Production
• Overseeing contracted videographers, including booking, scheduling, briefing, and ensuring recording quality and consistency.
• Writing after-production notes for each episode, including highlights, suggested cuts, key moments, and direction for the edit.
• Working with the video post editor to shape each episode, reviewing edits, and ensuring the final product is accurate, polished, and on brand.
• Keeping the production calendar on track so episodes are recorded, edited, and released on schedule.
• Creating and overseeing the podcast calendar

Episode Publishing and Team Collaboration
• Creating the title and description for each episode that are compelling, accurate, and aligned with Legatus messaging.
• Attending the regular podcast meeting to share progress, contribute ideas, and help plan upcoming episodes and guests.
• Collaborating with the marketing team to promote episodes across Legatus channels.

What We're Looking For
• 5-7 years of experience in podcast, video, or audio production, broadcast or digital media, journalism, or content production-especially in mission-driven, Catholic, or nonprofit settings
• Proven ability to research guests and develop strong, insightful interview questions
• Excellent writing and editing skills-clear, compelling, and always on brand
• Experience coaching or preparing on-air talent, hosts, or speakers
• Experience managing contracted vendors or freelancers, such as videographers and editors
• A collaborative, proactive spirit who thrives in a small, purpose-driven team
• A deep respect for and alignment with the Catholic faith and the mission of Legatus
• Existing relationships with authors, speakers, or business and faith leaders are a plus
• Experience in non-profit marketing is a plus

Skills
• Strong research and interview-prep skills: you can quickly learn about a guest and turn what you find into questions that lead to meaningful, memorable conversations.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills: you can write a clear question set, detailed production notes, and an episode title and description that draw people in, all in a consistent Legatus voice.
• Ability to coach and give feedback to a host in a way that is encouraging, direct, and productive.
• Strong project management skills, including managing production calendars and multiple episodes in different stages at the same time, using tools such as Monday.com.
• Working knowledge of video and podcast production, including recording setups, editing workflows, and the post-production process.
• Ability to oversee and direct contracted videographers and editors, setting clear expectations and holding work to a high standard.
• Outreach and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to pursue and follow up with high-profile guests and their representatives.
• Comfort working with executives, chaplains, staff, and guests, with a professional and gracious communication style.
• Familiarity with podcast publishing platforms and basic SEO for episode titles and descriptions is a plus.
