Job Description

Good Shepherd RC Church in Andover is seeking a part-time (20 hours weekly) Faith Formation Coordinator. The Faith Formation Coordinator administrates as well as designs, develops, directs and evaluates the Eucharist centered parish catechetical program for grades 1-6. She/he reports directly to the pastor and provides leadership to assist the pastor in building a solid foundation for the parish community in spirituality, Christian living, ministry and outreach.

General position responsibilities include:
• Maintains Sunday office hours during all Faith Formation classes for grades 1-6
• Maintains communication with all families regarding registration, the calendar, faith formation program and events
• Administer enrollment, maintain faith formation database and calendar
• Recruit volunteers as catechists and provide opportunities for catechist formation
• Maintain Faith Formation page on the parish website
• Submits Faith Formation page for bulletin weekly
• Selects textbooks and materials for grades 1-6
• Track student Mass and class attendance
• Reach out to/follow up with families in a timely manner
• Sacrament Preparation-First Reconciliation/First Eucharist
• Update parish database and First Communion Register
• Participates in and attends parish staff meetings
• Faith Formation budget prep
• Respond to other ministries as needed
• Parish Compliance Officer-VIRTUS
• Catholic Relief Services - Operation Rice Bowl Coordinator
• Children's Liturgy of the Word Coordinator
• Respond to and support the pastor as needed - ie, special projects, committees

Qualifications:
• Be a practicing Catholic in good standing
• Bachelor's degree or Religious Studies' certification
• Excellent written, oral, and teaching skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with clergy, parish staff, parents, students, and ministries
• Proficient in computer skills including website content, parish database, and Microsoft Outlook
• Ability to work independently to organize and arrange priorities
• Ability to schedule and produce work in a timely manner
• Ability to take initiative and be self-motivated
• High level of discretion and integrity
• Ability to work as a team and take direction when provided
