Job Description
DRE/Youth and Family Formation DirectorSt. Dominic Parish
Garden City, KS
Full Time, On-Site, Salary Range $48,000-$58,000 and Benefits
Reports to Pastor
Job Purpose:
The Director of Religious Education/Youth and Family Formation Director is responsible for the direction and management of all religious education programming for St. Dominic Parish. Primary duties include the development, implementation, evaluation, and management of the religious education program for children and families, including college students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct Religious Education programs for children and families.
Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer catechists. Maintain and manage Safe Environment standards in coordination with all relevant diocesan offices.
Develop and integrate an annual program for religious education, including summer programming.
Coordinate sacramental preparation for all Sacraments of Initiation and maintain corresponding records.
Develop programming for Middle School, High School, and College Students.
Develop and oversee a program for Liturgy of the Word for Children during weekend Masses (5:30 pm Saturday and 10:30 am Sunday).
Collaborate with Parish Staff and volunteers.
Coordinate the rental of the Parish Hall.
Additional Conditions of Employment:
Candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing, have a deep knowledge of the Catholic faith, and agree to live by the tenets of the Catholic faith.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's recommended in education, theology, or a related field.
3+ years of relevant experience preferred
Experience with children with special needs and/or diverse populations encouraged.
