2025-2026 Coaching Positions - Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Clinton Twp., MIPosition available: Fall 2025
Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Guadalupe is looking for faith-filled, qualified, committed individual(s)
to mentor our student-athletes. Coaches receive a stipend. The purpose of sports at Chesterton Academy
of Our Lady of Guadalupe is to foster virtue, and community, and help students realize a goal and work
towards it. Sports at Chesterton Academy will be competitive and played at the highest possible level.
• Gentlemen's Basketball - Coach (Fall-Winter Season 2025-26)
• Ladies' Basketball - Coach (Fall-Winter Season 2025-26)
Requirements:
1. The candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
2. Have a heart for servant-leadership and mentoring teenagers towards the virtues of holiness and
magnanimity.
3. Previous high school or higher playing and/or coaching experience in the sport.
4. A positive, humble, and collegial temperament that puts character development before winning.
Job Summary
All Coaching Positions:
• The coach will work under the supervision of the athletic director following the Chesterton
Academy code of conduct, and maintain the Standards of Conduct for Coaches.
• Respect family time by adhering to the school's policy of no regular training Friday-Sunday, and
limited games/matches on Fridays and Saturdays. Off on Sundays, tournaments being the
exception.
• Be good stewards of facilities, equipment, uniforms, etc. helping to maintain and track usage,
distribution, and collection including uniforms.
• Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, training sessions, and at away venues
in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Protect, manage, and supervise athletic activities, contests, and training sessions to promote
individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sporting behavior.
• Collaborate with faculty, parents, athletic director, and student-athletes to provide an environment
that develops the whole person through the Three Pillars Model: Intellect, Character, and
Spirituality growing student-athletes to be honorable competitive learners and contributors to the
legacy of Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
•
Head Coach:
• Work cooperatively with other coaches and the athletic director with scheduling, programming, facility
usage, and seasonal goal setting.
• Responsible for overseeing the development of all players and assistant coaches.
• Lead all training sessions and manage all competitions.
• Provide a post-game summary to the athletic director, including injuries, incidents, and stats as
required by conference bylaws.
• Licensed or certified by a governing body of your sport (not required but highly encouraged).
