Job Description

WordPress Website Support Specialist

Join a Catholic communications company dedicated exclusively to serving the Roman Catholic Church and her affiliated organizations, ministries, and entities. Our work directly supports parishes, dioceses, and Catholic ministries in their mission, and we're looking for a WordPress Website Support Specialist who takes pride in doing technical work in service of that mission.

We're a close knit, values driven team where honest work, service to others, and treating clients with genuine care aren't just buzzwords. They're how we operate every day. This is a full time, stable position with a healthy work life balance (8 hour weekday shifts) and a supportive, family friendly work environment where your contributions are noticed and valued.

This role requires significant, hands on WordPress experience. Candidates without a strong, demonstrable WordPress background will not be considered.

This is not an entry level or "learning on the job" position. We need someone who can step in and independently troubleshoot, maintain, and support live client websites without a lengthy ramp up period. The ideal candidate has real, recent experience maintaining WordPress websites and troubleshooting a wide array of website problems on their own, paired with patience and clear communication for clients of all skill levels, many of whom are parish staff, ministry leaders, and others who may not be tech savvy. Above all else, a strong customer first mentality, treating every client with respect and genuine care, is essential.

This position is available as fully remote for candidates located outside a reasonably commutable distance (approximately 30 miles) of Byron Center, MI. Candidates within that radius will work an in office/hybrid schedule (see below).

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional, caring customer service and maintain a customer first perspective at all times. Independently maintain and support our client base's WordPress websites, including parishes, dioceses, and Catholic ministries. Respond to case tickets (CRM) from clients for support or enhancements via email and live calls. Diagnose and resolve issues with WordPress core, themes, plugins, and third party integrations. Research and implement fixes for website plugins and libraries with minimal guidance. Manage details with integrity and work collaboratively with the team. Thoroughly document all interactions, changes, and updates performed. Take personal ownership and pride in all aspects of your work. Provide client training to prepare new users and established clients for success in learning and using WordPress. Use AI tools where appropriate to speed up troubleshooting, documentation, and client communication.

Skills

Significant, recent, hands on WordPress experience is required; please be specific about your WordPress background in your application. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot real WordPress issues independently: plugin conflicts, theme errors, broken layouts, performance issues, security concerns, etc. Comfortable working directly in the WordPress admin, page builders (e.g., Elementor, Divi, Gutenberg), and common hosting/CMS environments. Comfortable with, or actively leveraging, AI tools (e.g., for troubleshooting, writing client facing documentation, drafting responses, or streamlining research). A genuine, service oriented approach to customer care, with an appreciation for the mission of the Church. Experience working in a call center environment. Ability to solve problems creatively, patiently, and effectively. A humble, teachable spirit; able to accept feedback and build positive, trusting relationships with clients and colleagues. Proven work experience as a web developer or in web content management (CMS) role is preferred. Able to answer phones and communicate clearly using internal and external communication systems. Strong personal integrity, reliability, and time management. A genuine desire to keep learning and growing. Bilingual (preferred).

Job Type

Full time

Schedule

8 hour shift (9 to 5), Monday to Friday, designed to support a healthy home and family life. Some on call weekend shifts may be needed, and as this is a support role, some work time may occasionally extend past 5 PM.

Local candidates (within approximately 30 miles of Byron Center, MI): In person role based in Byron Center, MI 49315, with a hybrid schedule after training (typically 3 months, dependent on progress): Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in office; Tuesday and Thursday from home.

Benefits

401(k) matching, dental insurance, health insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance.

Pay: $19.00 to $23.50 per hour
