Job Description
Her Pregnancy and Life Assistance Network (Her PLAN) seeks an energetic networker with a passion for rallying their community to care for moms and their babies. The ideal Virginia Coordinator thrives in a people-centric, fast-paced environment.Her PLAN works at the local level with communities to strengthen and expand the pro-life safety net (based on the Her PLAN seven categories of care). Through this strategic work, communities become "Her Community" distinguished by a strong growing network of support that helps women plan for their future without resorting to abortion.
State Coordinators are responsible for mobilizing and advising communities in their state to increase awareness of existing supports for pregnant and parenting mothers, strengthen connections between providers, identify unmet needs, and prompt new and expanded local care. Motivating churches and community organizations to find their calling to serve pregnant and parenting moms is a crucial component Her Community outreach.
Together with the community, state coordinators develop a roadmap that outlines actionable steps to reinforce the pro-life safety net in each Her Community. This work is supported by the Her PLAN Directory of vetted life-affirming service providers and Her PLAN's Pathways guide which offers models to address gaps in the community's pro-life safety net.
This is a full-time position located in Virginia and supervised by the Her PLAN Director of Community Engagement. The Virginia Coordinator will work remotely with frequent travel within the state and occasional travel to Her PLAN headquarters in Arlington, VA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
*Strategically identify gaps in support for pregnant moms in communities and advise communities on models to fill them.
*Develop and maintain relationships with assistance providers in Her PLAN's seven categories of care.
*Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, including churches, with an interest in expanding support for abortion-vulnerable women before and after delivery.
*Host small and medium-sized events for assistance providers and/or community organizations. These events are intended to facilitate collaboration and support for the pro-life safety net.
*Introduce community organizations to Her PLAN Pathways models and connect them with opportunities to serve through assistance providers.
*Introduce assistance providers to Her PLAN Directory and encourage referrals through the Directory. Provide training on how to use the Directory to interested assistance providers.
Requirements:
*Three or more years of experience:
-working on grassroots campaign management or community organizing,
-in relevant state policy, public health, or non-profit work, or
-with an organization serving pregnant women in one of our categories of care.
*A strong ability to articulate pro-life issues, women's barriers to carrying to term and relevant community assets.
*Experience in community outreach, community organizing, donor relations, external relations or similar preferred.
Competencies:
*Must be pro-life and dedicated to protecting unborn children and their mothers from abortion.
*Must be skilled in public speaking and moderating productive community meetings.
*Must be a collaborative leader with a high degree of motivation and initiative.
*Must possess a high level of professionalism, discretion and organizational skills
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Travel:
Travel within Virginia will be required for this position. It is anticipated the role will travel up to 50% of the time. Candidates must have a car and will be reimbursed for mileage.
Position Type/Expected Hours:
This position is an exempt full-time position. Hours are typically 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday. Some weekend and evening work is required.

About Her PLAN:
Her PLAN is a project of the SBA Pro-Life America Education Fund that strengthens and grows the pro-life safety net. The project works across seven categories of care that encompass assistance to address the reasons women resort to abortion.
The seven categories of care are:
1) Care Coordination and Pregnancy Support;
2) Women's Health;
3) Finances, Work and Education;
4) Material or Legal Support;
5) Recovery and Mental Health;
6) Prenatal Diagnosis; and
7) Care for Children.
