Job Description

Mary's Choice RVA is a voluntary, residential, Christ centered pro-life ministry program that addresses the needs of pregnant and parenting women in crisis by transforming their lives through the healing touch of Christ. It is a full-service maternity home program devoted to helping pregnant women become good mothers and independent Godly women. The home provides programs and services free of charge to women accepted into the program, including but not limited to a place to live; education and job placement services; prenatal care; parenting classes and/or adoption counseling; spiritual enrichment good through Bible study classes and mandatory church attendance; financial counseling and education; and counseling services with counselor and other medical mental health professionals outside Mary's RVA as needed. The mission and ministry of the program present unique opportunities to women to enable them to make significant decisions and changes that will enable them to live an independent life and become good mothers. The program is designed to assist in addressing the challenges of life by learning and living together as a family in a Christian atmosphere.

The Program & Operations Specialist (POS) is responsible for the day-to-day programming, operations, and organization of Mary's Choice RVA Maternity Home. The primary focus for this position is assisting the Executive Director. House operations, Program operations, and Volunteer recruitment and coordination. The POS will be the primary point-of-contact and serve in the absence of the Executive Director with Resident Relations Specialist. POS will oversee all aspects of Executive Assistant services, Resident services, and Volunteers, Non-monetary Donations, House supplies and operations. POS will also oversee resident faith development and discipleship. POS is responsible for producing required and requested reports by deadlines. POS is to maintain confidentiality to protect residents' privacy. POS is a part-time position that will turn into a full-time position. A full description of duties can be provided.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Administrative Operations
• Assist Executive Director with tasks such as scheduling meetings, maintaining calendar and appointments, filing, phone calls, and paperwork.

Program Operations
• Work with Executive Director, Case Manager, Mentor to measure and evaluate the Mary's Choice RVA program to ensure it stays relevant to the current needs of pregnant and parenting women.
• Work with Prayer Coordinator and Mentor to assess new resident's faith background.
• Work with Prayer Coordinator and House Mom/House Mother to coordinate faith development and discipleship of residents through Bible study, devotionals, programs, and weekly church attendance.
• Work with Parental Class Educator, coordinate and manage residents' appropriate education on prenatal/maternal care, newborn/infant, infant/child safety, parenting and discipline as required by our Bright Course program.
• Enter clear, accurate, and thorough documentation in Donor Perfect 1) all inquiry information, 2) intake information and outcomes, 3) all contacts with residents, 4) reports, 5) applicable educational programs, 6) resident outcomes 7) other data as necessary.
• Refer prospective residents who do not qualify for the Mary's Choice RVA program to appropriate community resources applicable to their situation.
• Other duties as assigned.

House Operations
• Maintain all employment documents for the residents.
• Organize regular house meetings and trainings for the residents; oversee resident's responsibilities; communicate with House Mom/House Mother and Mentor on resident needs/issues, policy changes, and other important information.
• Conduct daily property walk-thru of house to ensure the residents are following and doing the program.

• Maintain library of printed materials in hard copy and electronically for the residents; ensure all materials are dated and in order.
• Report and document significant information regarding any unusual incidents or accidents occurring with residents and/or within area of responsibility.
• Other duties as assigned.

Additional responsibilities
• Serve as "point-of-contact" in the Executive Director's absence.
• Work with Executive Director and Development Manager on planning and executing events.
• Work with Executive Director, Development Specialist, Case Manager, and Grant Writer on grants budget, grant data needs, and grant reporting needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
