Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Job Description

Presence+ is a Catholic mental-health and parish-operations platform. Clinical relationships on one side, parish and campus-ministry tools on the other, one anthropology of the person underneath both. It's deployed today and growing. We're looking for a senior engineer to take it forward.

## Development Effort

The platform runs on Next.js 14 and Supabase on the backend, React Native / Expo on mobile, Sanity for content, and Stripe Connect for mentor payouts. Anthropic Claude models power a new in-app support layer we're building. HIPAA scope is walled off architecturally, not as policy.

Four things are in flight:
- Practice management software for clinicians, coaches and spiritual directors.
- A fully integrated mobile application.
- A ministry-forms component.
- Missional Vital Signs - a discernment-oriented measurement layer for parish and campus leadership. Spec locked; build not started.
- An in-app support assistant. RAG over the deployed locales, the course library, and a small article backlog. PRD locked; corpus inventory done.
- Cleanup work against the existing codebase, which was built by an outside vendor. It shows.

You'd take the lead on all of it.

## Requirements

Three-plus years full-stack, with real depth in Next.js and Postgres (or an equivalent stack with row-level security). You should be comfortable working from a written spec and pushing back when something in the spec is wrong. HIPAA rigor and multi-tenant white-label are constraints you've operated inside before. And you should be able to look at code someone else wrote and figure out which parts to keep, which to fix, and which to replace.

We work in Catholic contexts. You don't need to be Catholic, but the design choices here reflect theological and pastoral commitments - the confessional seal, the walled-off clinical scope, the anti-scorecard framing of the measurement layer - and you should be at ease working inside those.

React Native / Expo is a strong plus. So is Stripe Connect. So is prior work in financial, mental-health or pastoral-care software. Vector-database experience is useful for the assistant work but not required.

## Compensation

$80,000 to $150,000 depending on experience, plus equity. Remote, US-based.
