Job Description
Notre Dame School in New Hyde Park, NY is looking for a Full-time Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our faculty beginning on September, 2026.The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in social studies, developing in students an appreciation of history and government, while fostering the spiritual, academic, and moral development of students in alignment with Catholic values.
- participating actively in the school's Catholic identity and mission, including prayer, liturgies, and faith formation opportunities.
- collaborating with fellow teachers and staff to plan interdisciplinary activities and contribute to school initiatives.
- attending faculty meetings, in-service training, and professional development workshops.
- maintaining clear and open communication with parents and school leadership.
Qualifications:
Practicing Catholic; must support and model the mission of Catholic education
Bachelor's degree in Education, History, or a related field (Master's preferred, NYS teaching credential preferred)
Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
Willingness to integrate faith, academics, writing skills, and technology into daily teaching.
