Job Description

Title: Community Engagement Coordinator
Location: 488 Madison Avenue New York, NY
Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00

The Parish and Community Engagement Coordinator will work with the Deputy Director of Public and Community Engagement to help engage pastors, clergy, and laypeople of the Archdiocesan Parish and parish clusters to further establish a Catholic Charities presence, program, and services in parishes and provide coordination that will help enhance service delivery through administrative assignment and planning of special events and program activities. A goal of the establishment of this position is to deepen the relationship of Archdiocesan Parish and mission and the program of Catholic Charities and Federation agencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Deputy Director for Public and Community Engagement and following an assessment of current parish outreach efforts, develop and implement a comprehensive outreach plan to enhance engagement of pastors, parish staff, and permanent deacons in Catholic Charities programs, services, and Regional Agencies.
Serve as a liaison between parishes and Catholic Charities.
Develop a comprehensive menu of Catholic Charities programs and services available to parishes, along with clear guidance on how parishioners can support or participate in these efforts. The menu might include:
Feeding Our Neighbors
Parish Counseling Network
Immigration Legal Services and Refugee Resettlement Assistance
Other Catholic Charities services relevant to parish communities
Increase parish participation in programs such as CRS Rice Bowl, Bread for the World, and other international education and development efforts.
Be informed and assist where necessary in Federation agencies' interactions with parishes.
Develop and maintain documentation practices, collect and identify data trends, and provide timely reports to the Director and management.
Assist with all other duties as assigned and adhere to all agency policies and procedures.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days of work are generally Monday through Friday; hours of work vary and could include weekend and evening hours to be structured around parish and agencies schedule. Additional hours may be required to meet program deadlines and/or client needs.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
Travel for outreach, meetings/consultations at least 60% of the time using reliable transportation including public transportation, traversing streets, ascending/descending stairs, and exposed to outside weather conditions.
Remain in a stationary position at a workstation and use a computer approximately 40% of the time.
Frequently sit for long periods attending meetings.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 3 years of experience in parish and social ministry program and/or faith-based community organizing
Skill, Licenses, and/or Competencies required:
Spanish speaking preferred
Knowledge, understanding, and commitment to Catholic Social Teaching, Catholic principles and the mission of Catholic Charities
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize and manage time
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse set of stakeholders
