Job Description
Chesterton Academy of Blessed Michael McGivney invites applications for both full and part-time teacher positions at our classical high school, grounded in the Catholic tradition. We are looking for joyful, faithful educators who are eager not only to teach a rigorous curriculum but also to become founding faculty members during our first year of operation in fall of 2026.Currently, we are accepting applications for a part-time fine arts teacher and part-time ballroom dance teacher. Fine arts and dance will meet twice per week and will closely follow the Chesterton Academy curriculum. Fine arts will have an emphasis on ancient art history and pen-and-ink drawing, and dance will feature swing, waltz, and Latin dance, among others.
Both positions have the capacity for growth as the school adds more grades each year.
Prior teaching experience, especially in a classical or Great Books style setting, is preferred, but we will also welcome applicants who are enthusiastic to participate in the Chesterton model.
Qualifications:
--Bachelor's or master's degree in at least one of the following fields: Liberal Arts, Humanities, Music, Fine Arts, or related field.
--Teaching experience preferred, but new graduates with a passion for Catholic classical education are still encouraged to apply.
--Must be a practicing Catholic willing to take a public oath of fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
--Strong written and verbal communication skills.
--Alignment with Chesterton Academy's mission and vision, especially regarding the need for joyful, passionate educators.
--Willingness to actively participate in school life, including (but not limited to) daily Mass, the House system, and school events.
Must possess the flexibility and positive attitude required to flourish in a startup environment.
