Job Description
Oakcrest School, an independent school for girls in grades 6-12, inspired by the teachings of the Catholic Church, located in Vienna, Virginia, seeks one or two enthusiastic and dedicated long-term substitutes to teach science from December 2026 through April 2027.This position may be filled as one full-time role or as two part-time roles:
-Upper School Chemistry (part-time): Honors Chemistry and AP Chemistry
-Middle School Science (part-time): 6th Grade Earth Science
Applicants may apply for either part-time role or for the full-time position covering both.
The ideal candidate will have:
-At least three years of experience teaching science at the relevant grade level(s).
-A bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Earth Science, or a related field.
-A passion for teaching science.
-Excellent communication skills.
-An understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents, especially adolescent girls.
