High School Spanish Teacher Vacancy (2026-2027 School Year)
St. Edmund Preparatory High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join our Foreign Languages Department for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Located in Brooklyn, New York, St. Edmund Preparatory High School is a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory, and International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. We provide a rigorous academic program that challenges students to achieve excellence while fostering intellectual curiosity, faith formation, and global awareness.

Position Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
• Provide engaging, rigorous, and high-quality Spanish instruction to students at multiple proficiency levels.
• Develop and implement creative, standards-based lesson plans that promote active learning, critical thinking, and language acquisition.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that supports student growth, engagement, and academic success.
• Teach a range of Spanish courses and demonstrate a willingness to teach at the International Baccalaureate (IB) level.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Foreign Languages Department and across disciplines to support student achievement and curriculum development.
• Integrate technology and innovative instructional practices to enhance learning.
• Support the Catholic mission and values of the school through professional conduct and commitment to student development.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Foreign Language Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• New York State Teaching Certification (or eligibility for certification) preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish and a strong knowledge of language pedagogy.
• Experience teaching secondary-level Spanish preferred.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn the International Baccalaureate curriculum.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
• Commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
