Title: Executive Research Assistant (F/T - 32 hours/week)
- Administrative duties include answering phones, greeting visitors, correspondence, paying bills, designing pamphlets and fliers, ensuring the upkeep of the institute, scheduling, and other assorted activities as designated by the MTI Director.
- Research assistance includes cataloguing library items, maintaining records of archive materials, assisting visiting researchers with finding materials (in conjunction with the research fellow), and working with the Research Fellow to plan and coordinate events and programs.
- The Executive Research Assistant will also serve as the copy editor for the MTI Journal, which will be published annually or biannually. This will include proofreading submissions and checking citations, as well as any necessary coordination with the publishing office. This will be done in collaboration with the MTI Director and Research Fellow.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of English, computer and administrative skills.
- BA in Theology, English, or an appropriate field. (MA is desired, but not necessary)
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research in an academic setting
- Knowledge of Catholic teaching and St. Teresa of Calcutta (desired)
- Dependable and Trustworthy
Benefits and Notes
- The expected salary will be $23/hr for 32 hours per week.
- Currently, the MTI is open M-F from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. The only exception is the annual Colloquium that we hold on or around Mother Teresa's feast day (SEP 5). The hours for the institute will adjust in 2026 to M-R 8:00-4:00 pm.
