Job Description
Come join the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration mission and ministry. We are seeking a full-time Discernment Office Vocation and Outreach Assistant to join our team at St. Rose Convent, the spiritual heart and administrative center of FSPA in La Crosse, WISt. Rose Convent is home to the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration and the Mary of the Angels Chapel. As the Vocations and Outreach Assistant you would be a key member of the Discernment Office, providing administrative, organizational and outreach support to promote religious life within the mission of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. This position serves as the primary point of contact for women exploring religious life, offering a welcoming presence and guiding through the initial stages of discernment before connecting them with deeper accompaniment. The Assistant also functions as the administrative backbone of the Discernment Office, ensuring organization, communication and follow through while building relationships and expanding FSPA's presence through outreach.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Respond to initial inquiries and screen discerners via phone calls, letters, mailings, emails and/or visits.
- Serve as the primary organizer for the Discernment Office, ensuring all initiatives, events and communications are executed with excellence and follow- through.
- Collaborate with the FSPA Affiliation office and Communications office to promote the FSPA charism, mission and religious life.
- Assist in arranging and coordinating details for discernment retreats, communal experiences for inquirers and applicants, such as Come and See weekends and Live-In experiences.
- Network with school and parish leadership, diocesan vocation offices and regional vocation groups.
- Proactively identify and develop new initiatives to increase awareness of religious life.
We are looking for an energetic, caring individual who has:
- Knowledge of Franciscan values, FSPA charism, mission and community life, religious life.
- General knowledge of office management at a level normally acquired through completion of related course work or through advanced education or equivalent work experience.
- Strong technological skills, including database maintenance and all components of Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn other computer programs.
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Ministry, Religious Studies, or Communications or equivalent experience in communications, ministry and/or no profit work.
- Experience in event planning, project coordination or relationship management, preferred but not required.
