Job Description
Saint Maria Goretti Parish is looking for a part-time, Family Faith Coordinator. Under the general guidance of the pastor, the employee is responsible for activities directly and indirectly related to those of Faith Formation, including but not limited to Adult Faith Formation, parish liturgical events, and parish ministries. Under the general guidance of the pastor, the employee is responsible for activities directly and indirectly related to those of Faith Formation, including but not limited to Adult Faith Formation, parish liturgical events, and parish ministries. The coordinator is required to work with supporting parish staff and keep the office informed of upcoming events and activities.
Essential Job Functions:
I. Faith Formation:
Responsible for planning, scheduling, execution, follow up and administrative duties involving the coordination of programs and events:
-Adult Faith Formation (suggested 1 per quarter OR liturgical season)
-Prepare logistics for parish programs and events including coordinating and obtaining request for proposals, purchasing supplies, etc.
-Assist Parish Family events, such as:
Vacation Bible School
Easter Egg Hunt
Living Nativity
For these activities the following responsibilities are noted:
-Prepare logistics for parish programs and events including coordinating and obtaining request for proposals, purchasing supplies, etc.
-Record keeping and reporting
-Maintains accurate records including appropriate contact information and distribution lists.
-Maintains the parish calendar for programs and events.
-Ensures that adequate resources and supplies are readily available to volunteers.
-Answers administrative questions regarding parish programs.
-Communicates activities and updates in weekly parish bulletin by Thursday 10 days prior to publication.
-Provides support and assistance for planning, execution, follow up and administrative duties for, but not limited to Parish Liturgical Events:
40 Hours
Blessing of Animals
Mass of Remembrance
May Procession
Anointing Mass
Stations of the Cross
Holy Week
Lenten Series
Saint Maria Goretti Feast Day
II. Ministries Liaison:
-Help to strengthen relationships, improve ministry effectiveness, and support ministry growth.
-Act as a point of contact for volunteers.
Support volunteers running an on-going ministry related to young adult or adult formation.
-Support ministry leaders with scheduling, logistics and coordination.
-Build and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, staff and partnering ministries.
Additional Job Functions:
-Perform job-related tasks for the smooth flow of operations within the parish.
-Support Parish efforts as needed
-Contributes to team effort for a professional office environment and maintains good working relationships with all parish and diocesan staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
-The successful candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic.
-Demonstrated attention to detail, time management and multi-tasking skills
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Flexibility in processes and work schedule
Ability to work collaboratively with the parish staff, catechists and parishioners.
-Must be available during day, evening and weekend hours to meet the ministry needs of the Church.
-Demonstrated organizational, people and computer skills (including WORD, Excel, Power-Point, Zoom, MS Office products, Outlook e-mail, Parish Data System, Canva).
-Office for Child and Youth Protection Clearances
Education Required:
-M.A. or B.A. in Theology or Education, or extensive experience
-Protecting God's Children Archdiocesan Training
