Job Title: Social Studies Instructor
Location: St. Michael Catholic High School, Fairhope, Alabama

Position Summary
St. Michael Catholic High School seeks a passionate, mission-focused leader to serve as a full time social studies instructor. This role supports the school's mission of forming students into scholars, leaders, and disciples of Jesus Christ.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in education, specifically with a focus on US History and Government/Economics. They will be effective communicators and relationship builders, positively engaging with students, staff and parents, to cultivate a culture of learning and connection.

Furthermore, the instructor promotes and embodies the school's core values, represented by the acronym S.W.O.R.D.:

-Wisdom & Optimism - Embracing humility, joy, and Christ-centered hope (Proverbs 3:13; Philippians 4:4)

Key Responsibilities
-Plan & deliver effective lessons that meet state and national standards
-Create a positive learning environment through effective classroom management
-Maintain student records: grades, attendance, behaviour, etc.
-Engage in student life outside the classroom by participating in or helping with a school club, team, House or other sanctioned non-academic group

Required Skills and Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education or other related field, -Master's degree preferred
-3-5 years of teaching experience; Catholic school experience is a plus
-Proven success in student outcomes
-Proficiency in Google Classroom and FACTS educational platform
-Commitment to Catholic education

Work Schedule and Benefits
-Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, plus scheduled events
