Who We Are:

Our Lady of the Pillar Academy (OLPA), located in beautiful Half Moon Bay and within the Archdiocese of San Francisco, is a Catholic, classical grade school.

Our mission is to build abundant lives along the Coastside, through Catholic, classical education.

Founded in 2023, OLPA has experienced tremendous early growth. Bringing together the time-tested approach of classical education and the innovative nature of the technologically-driven area in which we live, we instill Christian virtues, hone skills in logic and rhetoric, and foster a joyful existence in a world often dominated by materialism and despair. We guide our students towards experiencing the timeless treasures of goodness, truth, and beauty in abundance so that we all might know, love, and serve Christ to the fullest!

Who You Are:

Great candidates for this position are passionate people with a love of education, building up the Church on earth, are fierce about wanting great education in the Golden State, and who love serving people-especially the children we teach!
With professionalism and heart, you will help foster a culture of grace and joy with your time on campus so that when you go out to ask others to participate in the mission they can feel the wonder and goodness that they will be a part of by supporting our institution.

OLPA is a Catholic organization, and employees should be in good standing with the Church with a good understanding of Church teaching, and willing to take and oath of fidelity to the Magisterium on all doctrinal matters.

Preference for this role is given to candidates with training in The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and/or Montessori or classical curriculum.

Faculty at Our Lady of the Pillar Academy actively engage in the school's system to promote character and virtue, and to help students grow in holiness. Full time faculty members are required to attend daily Mass with the entire student body, and assist in leading spiritual retreats.

Overview:

(a) A collegial spirit that inspires students, parents and faculty according to our core values: Inspire with Joy, Celebrate with Love, Believe with Wonder, Endeavor with Courage, Grow with Commitment.

(b) Professionalism to represent an outstanding refreshingly classical liberal arts, joyfully Catholic school in the San Francisco Bay Area.

(c) Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills, to be able to engage a wide range of stakeholders and opinions, from young students to parents to contributors.

(d) Maintain the appearance and demeanor of ladies and gentlemen of classical formal academia including a tie for men. No denim, bare shoulders, low-cut tops, or visible tattoos.

(e) Maintain a California Driver's License in good standing, with your own insured automobile appropriate for travel to and from offsite school functions.

Teaching certification is not required

This position is based on 185 on-campus days, plus a willingness to devote additional time as needed for:
- Lesson planning, classroom set up and admissions and administrative work beginning the 3rd week of August.
- Community outreach and/or other PR events in evenings or on weekends. Other meetings/events that occasionally might need to occur after normal school hours, during instructional weeks like parent/teacher conferences, spiritual retreats, drama productions, etc. (up to 8 in the year)
