Responsibilities
• Greet customers warmly and assist them with product selections, offering product demos when appropriate to enhance their shopping experience
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
• Manage cashier duties efficiently while maintaining high standards of phone etiquette when addressing customer inquiries over the phone
• Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to increase sales opportunities
• Support merchandising efforts by organizing displays, stocking shelves, and ensuring the sales floor is inviting and well-maintained
• Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory management to ensure product availability
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction at every touchpoint
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus for those interested in leadership roles
• Familiarity with POS systems, and in some cases on-line store maintenance, familarity with Shopify is an asset, basic cash handling procedures, and basic math skills for accurate transactions
• Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases with faith-based needs.
• Knowledge of Faith: Understanding and familiarity with the Catholic Faith
• Basic Knowledge of Carmelite Spirituality is an asset.
• Physical Stamina: ability to stand for extended periods, walk and lift/move items weighing up to 25/30 pounds
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential for building positive relationships with shoppers
• Ability to perform retail math accurately for sales calculations and inventory management
• Prior supervising experience is advantageous for candidates interested in team leadership opportunities
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays, particularly during high-volume retail season
